"Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing." - Benjamin Franklin

Everyday she loved to write, she wrote about her feelings, her experiences and what she wanted out of life. Now her blogs are replaced with status updates, live feeds and uploaded photographs of all the places she wanted to go but never have been.

How much experience and emotion can you fit into a 425 character limit?
Status updates are meant to indulge you into what someone is thinking right now, their real feelings. But who of us really dare to write how we feel? Or do we use it to portray who we want people to think we are oppose to who we really are inside? I try  to keep my status updates as honest as I can, but there are times where I feel it's impossible to express what's inside.

What we call entertainment has changed so rapidly and we have adapted so easily that we don't even notice. Ask someone ten years ago, 'what is entertainment' or what is 'social networking' chances are they'd say 'music or sports' and 'having a conversation with someone you just met'. Now the definition has evolved, entertainment is sitting there scrolling and clicking as the seasons change outside. The definition of social networking has become the complete opposite, the purpose was to give us a NEW way to connect, not the ONLY way to connect. Telephone calls have been replaced by wall posts and how deep and meaningful can a conversation be via chat?
Social networks like Facebook makes growing up in this new generation confusing. Young boys and girls grow up learning that this is how people express themselves, through a quote someone else wrote, and through aggressive slander that is dished out for the smallest of reasons. Writing a status update seems easy, but through the mind of a teenage girl or boy, so many thoughts flow by, what if nobody likes my status? What if someone thinks its afflicted towards them? Ask yourself, should there be so many complications to express yourself amongst people who are supposedly your 'friends'?

Fan pages started out as they are named, pages for fans of entertainers, celebrities or sport clubs and associations. Look at all the fan pages now, they are tools used to bash on anything and everything.

The important part about a blog is not about how many likes you can get, but having the ability to translate your feelings through words. I was never worried about who was reading them or wondered if I would be judged. Even if I were to be judged by my blog, than good. Because at least these are my true honest thoughts and feelings being expressed as they should, and if you're not a fan than kudos to you for expressing your honest feelings right back.
